WeldUK
started trading in 1995 under the name: Newby Welding Supplies. The two
owners of WeldUK are Mary and Geoff Newby. The business started with Mary
and Geoff selling from home in Nottinghamshire (UK) and travelling to local
trade fairs. From these humble beginnings, Mary and Geoff started their
first website that was simply a 'brochure on the net' and experienced huge
growth and has even more potential to grow. This created a worldwide audience
and through customer demand they decided to commission a professionally
designed, e-commerce enabled website to service WeldUK's now worldwide customer
base more efficiently.
The strategy of aiming at the DIY end of the market has proved to be remarkably
successful in firmly placing WeldUK in its niche in the market. This strategy
coupled with the worldwide presence of the Internet has meant that WeldUK
have now sold welding items to customers in dozens of countries.
